So I called Keith this evening while I was still at work hoping to hear that he was having a great night. Instead he tells me “the water pump is leaking”. I ask “drinking water or engine”. Our fresh water pressure pump is the only original electrical item left on the boat and we frequently joke about it so I figured there was a very good chance it finally died. On the other hand, the only thing I know about the engine water pump is that one is on the “spare parts to buy” list and it has a hefty 500.00 price tag next to it.
Yeah, of course it was the engine pump.
Fortunately Keith had a seal kit for it. Unfortunately he didn’t have an instruction manual. It took a little extra time but he still had it sealed up before I got home and had a warm dinner waiting for me.
I am a lucky woman.
