Recently there has been a shift in the mindset around here. Its subtle and I hadn’t been able to quite define it. Kind of a sense of urgency, anticipation, anxiety? But not exactly.
Then, I finally put my finger on it. We are used to doing boat repairs, even pretty major ones. We are also familiar with prepping for a short summer cruises. However, we have turned the corner and entered a part of preparations that we are not familiar with. We are finally to the point of making decisions that are specific to longer term cruising. Things that have never applied to us before. Things like mail services, watermakers, remote weather access, and lists of cruising guides. In short, it feels like the adventure has truly begun. These decisions and projects are like uncharted territory for us. It feels good-in an overwhelming kind of way.
